One of our little guys celebrated his birthday shortly before our last day of classes.
In a Montessori celebration of life, it is quiet, simple and lovely. My own children who are now teens still cherish the memory of “walking around the sun” on their birthdays.
It is about understanding the months of the year, and how the earth rotates around the sun, and how many times it has done so since they were born. Sometimes parents provide photos of the children at each age, and we pass them around and talk about what it was like to be a baby, a toddler, and now SO grown up.
This young man and his friends had so much fun celebrating, and then all enjoyed some cake pops that were a big hit!
